Animation is a world of special effects and unbelievable graphics. It creates unbelievable real and virtual experiences. Animation is blend of the entertainment industry and technology. The animators provide graphics for educational programs, movies, television shows, websites and advertisements. The boom of children's TV channels (like Disney, Cartoon Network, Pogo, Hungama, Nick etc.) and increasing trend of using animation in Ad films has created numerous job opportunities.These days animation is used in almost all the industries viz. automobile, pharmaceutical, medicine, aerospace, civil and architectural and many more. The film industry has shown an insatiable appetite for animation. The digital animation is one of the youngest, fastest-changing and most rewarding career options. India is rapidly growing as a major animation outsourcing hub with a phenomenal 30% growth rate.
Over 30,000 animation studios around the world and 70 percent of them have a turnover of US $1 million. A typical animated film requires 700 to 800 animators. A large number of animators are needed but the number of skilled animators is falling very short. This resulted in imbalance of demand and supply ratio. The demand for animation production services from international animation studios is spurred in large part due to India's lower costs of animation production and technical manpower to meet 2-D and 3-D animation requirements. The Indian companies are now creating a number of animated films and cartoons for US and European studios. India has over 300 animation studios employing over 12,000 animation professionals. Animation has become a high paying profession that is matching the pay packets of software professionals. The career in animation is challenging as well high rewarding.
In general, the ranges between Rs. 12,000- 1,00000 per month. It mainly depends on the animation skills, the nature of work and employer.
Minimum 12th pass and must have completed Certificate/diploma/advanced diploma/Graduation course in animation from reputed institute. A good drawing skill is desirable.

- Multimedia careers: Multimedia is used in fine arts, entertainment, commercial art, journalism, media, designing and software services. A multimedia specialist is expected to possess technical, analytical as well as creative skills.
