Accounting is the branch of commerce which deals with keeping financial records, summarizing, reporting and analysing financial transactions etc. An accountant's work can range from auditing (formal analysis of an organization's financial statements), daily bookkeeping (ensures the accounts are hunky dory), tax records, etc. Accountants also participate in strategies for mergers and acquisitions, quality management, tracking financial performance, tax and health care benefits. Many successful businessmen began their careers in accounting job. This career gives experience of business. Even the most Chief Financial Officers of large corporations have a background in accounting.
Taxes, audits, bookkeeping are always needed to be maintained. Therefore there is always demand for good accountants. Accounting jobs exist in all commercial and manufacturing establishments across industries. With the rapid growth of banking and financial sectors in the country, the demand for skilled accountants has also been increased considerably.
Freshers get a salary of Rs.10,000-Rs.200,000. Accountants get higher salary in MNCs and private companies. Advanced degree in acccounting field and experience are required for higher salary in acounting field. Accountant consulancy is highly remunerative job.
Most of the accountant and internal auditor positions require at least a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. Some employers prefer applicants with a masters degree in accounting or a master’s degree in business administration with finance specialization. Accountants and auditors have to obtain certification, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for advancement in the career.
